Inventory of the double tradition.

Also known as the Q material.

Current mode: View.

The double tradition is the sum of the material that Matthew and Luke share in common against Mark. If regarded as a separate document or oral tradition, and often just for convenience, it is called Q.

For the separate listed inventories of each synoptic gospel, see the following:

Inserted pericopes are in normal type. Inserted phrases, as per the conventions of my own inventory, are italicized and indented in a smaller typeface. Boldfaced references mark those items that come in the same order between two or more gospels. I include Mark in this inventory because of the so-called overlap between Mark and Q at a number of points.

I present the double tradition first in the Matthean order, then in the Lucan order.
