§ This passage in Luke appears to be part of a Lot theme that begins with John the baptist (note the uncommon phrase in Luke 3.3 = Matthew 3.5, πασαν περιχωρον του Ιορδανου, all the region of the Jordan, which in the Septuagint appears mainly in the story of Lot in Genesis 13; 19), continues with Luke 10.12 = Matthew 10.15 in the mission discourse, and ends with a remembrance of the wife of Lot.
